Not the right "time period" for my (if I ever actually build it) layout, but I rode these things for most of my time in Chicago, so I doubt I will be able to resist.

Tom D.

I have a mind like a steel trap...a VERY rusty, old steel trap.

Who among us wouldn't want to use one of these near our roundhouse, spilling out a big group of foamers to take pictures?

Yes, saw these around Chicago when I was a kid living there, and Rapido can sell me a few.  I have an empty space, maybe I'll make it a bus storage yard (or graveyard if I update my era.)

Good stuff.  I hope the rivet counters don't rip this one to shreds!

The way they are acting about N scale reminds me of when I had a local hobby shop and I would ask them for N.

No use for these back in the hollers, but cool model!  8) (I rode these on DC Transit then Metro).

DC was the first to get these: http://www.busdrawings.com/Transit/dc/washington/1959tdh5301/WMATA5748.jpg

The blue on the generic blue looks close to the what we used at Cambus Bus Service where I worked my way through Kent. Tempting fore sure I have plenty of yellow striping. We sent those things all over on charters.

Cool model.  Glad to see them being made.  I remember seeing these buses around NYC when I was growing up.  They seemed to be everywhere in NYC.  Took a few trips on these buses from my grandparent's house in Teaneck to the Port Authority on 42nd St.

That is an awesome news, especially knowing that quality-wise, it will not be anything like a CMW Buick Estate Wagon!!   And since it is not a wooden vehicle, there are no worries about board gaps!   :D

Seriously, I commuted in those buses to High School.  I bought the H0 version (with lights) to be repainted as an MBTA "T" bus, so I'm in for the N scale version.  Hopefully it will also cost about 40% less than the H0 one.

Looks like TWO versions for NY City. I'm betting the green and the two toned blue, both of which I operated in revenue service. The green one, I wonder will it say above the tinted glass above the side windows "New York City Transit Authority", or "Manhattan & Bronx Surface Transit Operating Authority"?
What will the destination signs display?
