They might as well announce one of those 'customize your car' releases.. and you can put whoever you want on the side of the car.
Or just start releasing each car with a 'President' and 'Not my President' version.

The "Harrison A. Williams Metropark Station" on the Amtrak Northeast Corridor was a life lesson for many, to never name something after a living politician or person who could become an embarrassment later. It was fitting that it was in New Jersey...

Crap, so the Athearn body is correct, but the hatches are wrong. Off to the scrap pile!  (kidding here)

The photo of 307 posted earlier seems to lack contrast, but this one shows the hatches are located directly above the discharge outlets.

Interesting bit of trivia, they were delivered without hatches, they were installed by the lessee (or I imagine a contractor)

Was there a #45 car?  When MTL runs out of planets and asteroids, will they start doing Presidents?  Would it violate TRW policy to have a "Tagging Challenge" thread on President cars?  (Politics is going to be the downfall of us all!) 

They have done cars for every president, so it's purely historical and not political.

I’m confused. Which number is correct for the BNSF autorack.

It labeled as 952751, which would indicate a TTGX tack but it clearly shows BNSF 300863 in the pic.

The TTGX racks would be correct for the 2015 timeframe indicated, but I can’t find a 3008xx series before late 2017.

Nothing there for me.  The NP gon looks nice, but the prototype was about a foot taller than most similar cars, and it showed in a train.

And a question:  The CR hopper says the prototype was built at Kentucky's Raceland Shops, which were C&O/Chessie/CSX.  I never knew they built cars for other roads.  Was this a special order, or did they regularly build cars for foreign roads?

That's a good question. My C&O/Chessie friends were surprised to find this out when I asked them about hopper toppers several years ago. I've been waiting for the CR version since the Chessie one in 2018.  I've seen photos of them at the then Landmark elevator on the east side of Columbus making it a must have. Question is do I feel like renumbering more of them. The ADM tank cars look nice I will have to check to see if they fit into my W&LE modeling era of 2010-2015. I don't recall coming across any in studying photos/videos a while back.

bman:  Was the hopper itself built at Raceland, or just the Hopper Topper?  If it was just the cover, that would make more sense.

Were those cars treated like free running grain empties or were they assigned to a specific seasonal business?

I'm tempted to get it to run with my conrail grain cars.. but if they ran in groups for specific service.... then nevermind.
