Just passing along how someone else braced up the Z rail on their printer:

Hmmm...  Pretty darn clever I'd say.

As much as Sonic dropped the ball on the Mini-4k, I'm seriously considering pre-reserving their 8k machine.  It looks like the fixed a lot of the initial structural problems that the first run of 4k's had. If the print quality is to be believed (from the promotional photos), the difference is pretty astounding.

I said I wouldn’t order another one of their machines but I did order the Mini 8k they stole the arm and plate from Anycubic. The base is way more thick like @JeffB said - they look like the fixed all the flaws.

Let us know how you get on with it Tim...  I went to pre-order one a few weeks ago and the pre-order had (finally) sold out.

Just got my Mini-4K back together last night.  Tested the LCD and all seems to be well.  Hope to print a small part that Chris333 graciously supplied the file for to test it for sure.

One thing I really like over the Photon is that leveling the build plate is dirt simple!  I did it before I pulled it apart, but had forgotten how easy it is.

May or may not laser cut a shim for the resin vat before I print anything.  Not sure it's necessary, but you only need to pierce the FEP once for the nightmare to begin.

Try a plastic static cling screen protector. I have one on my Saturn and it works well. I had a tempered glass one but it broke and ruined the screen.
