No update, but have been using the printer all night. Even though I made the clip to use as a drip hanger for when prints are done. There is barely enough room to even tip the print head up on end without me smacking into the upper part of the machine. And man the whole thing out in the open design sure is messy. It feels like so many steps backwards. They need to make an OG Photon with a stronger UV light along with a 15 micron pixel screen
If they won't cover that then what exactly will they cover? You just bought the thing.
I have scraped hardened resin off my Photon screen several times with a razor blade, no dead pixels in over 2 years. This screen is $90 bucks.Guess if anything this thread will let anyone else know not to buy one of these.
For sure! What a poorly executed machine. Very flimsily built. Is the screen even available yet? The last I looked it was out of stock, or just not available.I've said it before and it's worth repeating... I should have just bought the Elegoo Saturn instead (the caveat here is that the Saturn's are very hard to come by!)Jeff
Wishing now I had bought the Saturn. That's what I looked at first.
@Chris333 to change the height of your machine in "firmware".M8026 I145;You make a new text file and call it "new_height.gcode" Then inside that file place the bit of code mentioned above. Where the number after the I is 145mm. Yours is probably like 160 if you're using the photon lead screw. Then you put that on your USB card and "print" the new_height file.It makes working with the build plate tolerable then. Mine is set like this and I used this code to set it. Let me know if you run into troubles.
But then I'd need a longer rail or it would "go off the rails"
