The pictured truck is a 50's era 700 or 800 open cab mid mount ladder. These were probably one of ALF's biggest sellers.

I don't think that is a mid mount ladder, but a tiller instead. Mid mounts don't have steering at the rear like a tiller does

Started working on various payloads for an RBB&B circus train circa 1956.  Made some progress on the baby elephant truck this weekend.  Modified cab is from the Woodland Scenics stake truck, body is 3D-printed with styrene additions.  New wheels also 3D-printed as the stock WS wheels are horrible.  Still have to add the hay bay ladders, chainlink safety gates and other details.  Cab assembly and box assembly will be painted before final assembly.

I installed ESU 59820 Lokpilot Micros into the Bachmann N Scale Thomas & Percy. They run fantastically. The short wheelbase & lack of caps really did not affect operational performance. They have coreless motors and run just as good as any other current N Scale engine.

The Annie & Clarabel are Tomix, I have since ordered the Bachmann ones, and the goods wagons/freight cars are UK prototype from Peco, Dapol, and Graham Farish.

I've been working on a RIP shed kit for the yard area and placed it on the layout to see how it will look when finished.  I still have a bunch of scenery work to do on the yard before I'm ready to permanently install this.

I started another locomotive project over the weekend, MRL 390. I've always like how the F45s looked in MRL's paint so after finding pictures of one being used by NS it only made sense to build one.

I didn't do much to the stock model other than patch some of the windows, notch the anticlimbers for the cut levers, added styrene C-channel to represent the frame as well as hide the bare metal of the chassis, and the usual detail parts.

There's still some grab irons that need to be bent and I need to dig through my parts bins to see if I have suitable horn for it, if not I'll probably end up printing one.

@bnsfdash8,

Looks good.  What a difference that C-channel makes under the carbody!

If I'm not mistaken, the prototype uses those distinctive "Napoleon Hat" trucks.  Kato sells those as spare parts.  Small additional modification, and it would look even better.

I have a set of those trucks, but the mounting system is that newer "clip" system instead of the older phillips head screw that is on this car.  I'll have to see if I can make it work.

I seem to recall that @bbussey was able to easily install those clip-on truck on the older kingpins with a screw.  I think all that needs to be done is to cut off the little clips on the new truck, then just install them same way like the older trucks.

Any clip-on Kato truck fits on the old-style screw-required bolsters of the older models if you remove the nubs on the clips. Then, they behave as the old-style trucks and can be held in place on the bolsters with screws.

Ok, PLEASE tell me you can upload sounds?
I can send you a bunch of clipped up sounds from the George Carlin remixes. Case in point: http://railfanning.kapuscinski.net/soundboard/?c=b400

Fell into another weird rut with my current layout. Went on another short kick into T Trak this weekend. Going wild with the new Digital Calipers I acquired last week. Makes scratch building stuff like the shanty and roads 10x quicker.  Though I have to ask, for anyone who is more into T Trak, should I just... jigsaw buzz off the back of this thing. This CMR kit is a lot deeper than the official Kato/WS one.

Nope!

I've been making my modules deeper (both in front and back) for ages.

As long as it's shallower than a standard corner, I think you'll be fine.

If it's deeper, then you might want to shift the mains back so the extra space is in the front.

Here is one being delivered:
https://www.youngstownfire.com/1944-firetruckdelivery

Did the railroads have end ramps on spurs at this time, for loading vehicles? I know later for TOFC there were small ramps at all major yards until operations were consolidated into large dedicated facilities. Using boards as a ramp seems awfully risky for loading a big vehicle.

Unfortunately that decoder is an ESU LokPilot (not LokSound), so it is a non-sound decoder. There doesn't appear to be enough room in N scale Thomas for a sound decoder and a speaker.  But you could probably squeeze one in Annie or Clarabel.  :D
