Evemodel 53' gondola

Just ran across these on Amazon:

They look like they could be halfway decent models, but off the top of my head, I can't think of any prototype 53' cars that only had 13 panels.  C&O did had some 13 panel cars with drop ends, but they were 48'...

All I really know is that they have decorated versions on eBay too.

They may be a bootleg of an Atlas model, as this seller also has sold containers identical to Atlas offerings.

I just pored through Spookshow's site, and this is the closest historic production: http://www.spookshow.net/freight/cc50gondola.html

It's 13 panels and fishbelly, too, but it's not the same gon. This new one has mill ends, and finer details. Seems odd that there'd be this new production out of the blue not associated with any of the usual suspects. Canceled production from one of the new boutique makers, maybe?

I also note that the eBay listing has references to "1:150" and "wagons" - maybe these are "non-domestic" (from the perspective of US/Canada/Mexico) prototypes that are being painted for the "domestic" market, e.g. Kato's "Mixed Freight Set"?

Yeah, the "1:150" in the image left me wondering, too. If the model resembled anything UP had I'd take a gamble on an undec 3-pack if only to satisfy curiosity, but they didn't, so I won't.

It's also hard to figure out if they are 53' in 1:150 or 1:160, what the cited 53' length is based on, e.g. length over pulling faces, interior length, etc.

It's much easier to perform exorcisms on the 50' devils that I know (and already have) than the 53' (give or take a few feet) devils that I don't know...

This seller mistates the scale of their containers as 1:150.  They are 1:160.  So I wouldn't place too much stock in that.  Note the photos disagree with some of the gondola listings in this regard.

These look pretty crude. The decals are minimalistic (and missing from the car ends). There’s also no brake wheel visible in the eBay ad. For a few bucks more you can get a lot better model through a major manufacturer.

Given the limited number of accurate 52'6" drop-end gondolas in N, I could live with the crude detail if it was a reasonably accurate model that wasn't previously available.

I'm unable to think of any 52'6"-53' 13 panel cars that this model could be used for, but I haven't really looked at the extent that it could be used as a starting point for something different.

I note that in the photos I looked at, the trip pin on the coupler is angled the wrong way. 

Not sure what the trucks might be.

The eBay listing has the item location listed as China.

It looks a lot like an N scale version of this HO gondola from Bachmann, also 13 panels, if I am counting right:

Ride height needs fixin (for starters).

Interesting though, I wonder if it's a Chinese prototype.

The listing says:
The gondola car is with the length 115mm. That's 4.53 inches, or 60 N scale feet! 

I suppose that might be the outer length though.

115mm in 1:150 scales out to 56.6'

If anyone picks one up, give a full report!

It does look like a knockoff of Bachmann’s HO model. There usually is a prototype that Bachmann bases its models on, especially the newer tooling. But they don’t always follow the prototype exactly so it may take some digging to find.

Looks almost identical, but on the Bmann model, the "ribs" taper off toward the bottom but ion the Eve they appear to extend straight to the bottom of the side.

Another complication is that the Bachmann model when announced was described as a ACF 50'6" Drop-End Gondola.
