Eric,

Since it's not a Wifi camera, does this mean you have no idea of what your video looks like until you transfer the file on the micro SD card to your computer?  Does a Wifi camera have video you can see before you start recording?  Since I'm in HO, the size is not nearly as much of a concern as it is for you N scale folks.

DFF

That is correct Dave.  It is a surprise until you either plug the camera into the laptop, or read the micro SD card.  The wi-fi camera can provide a livestream view of what the camera sees on a phone or laptop.  I grabbed this cheapo camera on a whim and have only just begun to play with it.  I still need some video editing software to clean it up.   My camera is .87" x .87" x .87" in size.  I may grab a larger wi-fi camera at some point, as I think I may have adequate clearance.

Here is a wi-fi cube camera that is only 1.38" x 1.38" x 1.38" and has 4K resolution:

Steam arrived at MN FRee Mo N during our open house last saturday.  This CIM 2-10-2 performed very well.    Shown here crossing a module still being worked on.

I use the Z-scale couplers made by Lee English at Bowser, adapting them for N scale has been a sort of ongoing WIP for a while by some of the TRW folks:

To be candid, it's been a few years since I've bought my last batch, so I'm not sure what the availability is like nowadays.  But I definitely like the lack of a slinky and the closer-to-scale appearance.

Ed
Is he still making those?

I haven't heard either way in a while.  This appears to be one of latest links on the discussion thread:  https://www.therailwire.net/forum/index.php?topic=21980.msg628156#msg628156

That thread references Lee's contact info in this post:  https://www.therailwire.net/forum/index.php?topic=21980.msg324793#msg324793

Not much going on for me - still working too much.

Also slowly preparing to sell house, packing up trains while leaving a few projects out. Was planning to do my first DCC sound installs but still waiting for my Lokprogrammer.

This weekend I cleaned up the flash on this ancient white metal kit from Detail Associates. Took the flash off of the wheels and frame with jewelers files and then started to clear out the windows - at that point I concluded that my eyes aren't quite as good as the ones on my teenage self and decided I need to get a magnification aid. I can still see it but it'll be easier with some magnification.

I need to dig up some proto photos to see if I can fabricate some mirrors from wire or something.

Note the one I got came with a TF card - not just any SD card will do.  Be warned that from what I've seen the claims on resolution with these things may be, shall we say, ambitious.  If you get one please post a video.  I'd gladly pay $50 for real 4k.

In this time of COVID it should be possible to set up remote ops sessions using these things in combination with wifi throttles.
