River Point Station Fords Closout Sale

For anyone who wants to add more N scale River Point Station Ford service trucks and crew cab pickups to their fleets, one of the RPS distributors is offering them with very deep discounts!  Here is the link to the SALE: https://rps-vehicles.myshopify.com/

The crew cab pickup kits are at a particularly good price.  I ordered some so I can make more regular cab pickups like the ones shown below.

And, at the time of this posting, all of the paint schemes RPS offered were in stock.   :D

They are nice.  Fortunately they're too new (and too expensive even with the discount) to load a two tier open auto rack...

Thanks Carter. I picked up few undercoated undecorated kits, and some photo-etched mirrors.

They have undercoating on those model trucks?  Wow, now that's a manufacturer being really being detailed.

Sadly, too new for my era, too.  Numerous vehicles from the 1980s, being the crap that they generally were, aren't likely to ever be mass-produced.  :(

Yeah but they charge you extra for the undercoating and most know that you don't need it.  Maybe he got a good price after the sales guy "talked to his manager."  I'm glad Peteski didn't fall for the extended warranty and tire insurance.

Damn rigth!  No Rusty Jones or Ziebart for my trucks!   ;)  Remember those?  Used to be very popular here in New England area.

Dave

They appear to be  1992 vintage which is the same as the 1988 except for the location of the blinker on the headlights.  If your into the late 80's

My era is 1983-86, and there was a drastic styling change that occurred in the late 1980s.  They just won’t work for me.  :(

The cab and bed of the 1980-91 Ford F-250 pickups were identical to the cab and bed of the 1992-97 Ford pickups.  The only difference was in the sheet metal ahead of the front wheel, and the grille.  There were three changes to the grilles for the 1980-91 models; however, the grille of the 1982-86 models comes the closest to the grille of the 1992-97 models.

Here is a photo of a 1983 Ford pickup.

And here is a photo of a 1993 Ford pickup.

I am not sure how hard it would be to modify the grille and the "sheet metal" around the grille of the River Point Station model to represent the 1982-86 Fords, but it might be possible.
