I doubt if Rapido will ever make this in N. The market is full of BLI and Kato E units (I have one of each). Would enough people buy/ upgrade to make it a successful run? I don't know. I could definitely use one if they ever made it.

Agreed, I have so many of these from Kato and BL that I would have no interest in a Rapido offering.

How then we explain the proliferation of GG1s?  I believe there are more N scale GG1s than E units.  :)

Accurate point, but I only own Kato GG1’s.

Oh alright, with this glut of N scale E units I now see that there are no chances that Rapido will make one too!

But, but, I wonder how many H0 E units were produced over the years?  :)

BL wasn’t shy about going head to head with Kato, but I would be interested in to see what Rapido’s thoughts would be.  E and PA units.  Now Rapido does offer traditional dc where BL does not.  I might consider them after all, in straight dc.

If BLI would just offer a DC only model, they'd sell a ton. Do I have a few Paragon3 BLI units, I sure do. Would I have more BLI units if I could not pay for their crap decoder, and put my own in, you betcha.

I agree fully!  Only I would leave it dc.

I'd probably but Rapido E units if they were detailed to match PRR units.  I own several Kato and BLI units.  More than I need.  Why? - Lots of PRR paint schemes to pick from, DGLE 5 stripe, Tuscan 5 stripe, Tuscan single stripe, Tuscan keystone only.  I've also owned the old Atlas E7 and E8 units in years past.

I agree that if BLI made their engines without paragon so I can toss in a loksound decoder I'd be much happier.

Recently its been pretty annoying to have multiple BLI engines giving me decoder issues but having zero digitrax or esu issues.

I think Rapido would be a nice alternative E unit wise, but I'd rather see more N scale freight cars from them. F30a and X31a.

I'd probably be in for some Rapido E units, if the right road names came up. KCS, Frisco, and more. But I get the feeling they wouldn't do those road names, only the big eastern names.

BLI did originally sell their E7 in a straight DC version (as Precision...) when they first started out, but when they revised the mechanism and changed the brand they dropped that version.

Wow, Rapido seems to be cranking out the new products at quite a pace. They seems to have an announcement of a completely new product with every newsletter. Most of its in HO, but if you consider the full listing of all their products in the last few years past a few months into the future, it’s quite a list. I’d like to see a few more items in N scale, with some specific requests that I won’t bore you all with...

Oh, man, I’d be onboard for an HO scale Rapido E8A, if only they’ve had offered a road that I could use, e.g., ACL, SAL, or SCL.  Hint, hint.  ;)

And nobody makes or has made E8s in HO? Or is an HO market flooded with identical locos by all kinds of companies not considered bad like an N market in a similar state?
