Man, with the new version of the toilet paper shortage NS is gonna have to work hard to wipe up the mess.

I think the "new" TP shortage is regional.

I know our local Costcos have pallets of it in nearly every aisle.  But both our Costcos have also recently had COVID-19 outbreaks.

Actually that video shows two very nice, simple beam overpasses (including the one that failed) that virtually any model railroad after about 1900 could get away with, especially back East.  One of the things I really liked about the design of Lou Sassi's Mohawk Division N scale layout--the one I based my N scale PRR Juniata Division off of--are the multiple railroad/highway overpass scenes.  They're interesting, realistic, and nearly ubiquitous in the East, particularly with very low and narrow clearances due to their age.

I agree, yet, I swear that I heard the news reporter call that bridge a trestle . . . twice.  That ain't no trestle.

I just viewed this, and that derailment is in Western PA, my neck of the woods.  While I do not recognize the name
of the towns (they are two counties away), my guess is that is a Shelocta coal train.  That is the only thing that makes sense to me.  That line comes off the ex Conrail NS Conemaugh Line around Blairsville and heads to Shelocta.  Hopefully that power plant has some coal stored since it may be a few weeks before they get another shipment.

Huh, I thought someone posted this yesterday:
       This is on the old Cherry Tree and Dixonville in the outer reaches of Corman's Clearfield Cluster.  The (site of the ex-) Wandin Road overpass is between Clymer and Clymer Loop.  The turn is based out of Clearfield.
       The Clearfield Cluster is a composite of ex NYC and PRR coal branches, with a touch of ex-B&O trackage, and the aforementioned CT&D, which was co-owned by the PRR and NYC.  The Clearfield cluster connects with NS at Cresson and Keating.

I also like the mention of it taking "Months" to reopen.
Its a beam bridge, it'll probably be a week at most to replace...

I did not realize the Clearfield Cluster extended into Indiana County.  You learn something new everyday.  Thanks for the information.

I know the area fairly well. Went to school for a few years at IUP. There are tons of bridges like that in Indiana and the surrounding counties. Not surprised it was in bad condition. From what I remember, the line is owned by RJ Corman, not NS. NS passes off the coal at Cresson and then it is taken back via RJC. Sometimes its 4 RJC units, sometimes its 2 RJC units tacked onto the front with the NS road power to take the train there and back.
