I’ve not been running trains much so I wanted something to run on pretty quick. I already had two T-trak modules, so I knocked together two turnback modules from 2x4’s and 5mm floor underlayment. I know these are not the preferred materials, but they were left over from a home improvement project and the price was right. I don’t know how far I will take this, but at least I am running trains.

I could never get the Atlas foobie short passenger cars to run at all. I really like the way they are decorated and wanted to use them. I figure if they would run, any of my transition era freight cars would run on the curves. After replacing trucks and installing MT true scale couplers, I tried running them.

I like the Kato super elevated curves, but the transition track section is kinda short. The true scales are so tight, one end of the car would lift high enough to derail on the transition track section. So I have used a large radius curve to make the transition.

I need to get a few more pieces for the other curve.

Haha!  I've got two shirts from Ed's Threadless Shop that just happen to advertise your JFRTM Ry. layout!

This layout is no more. I learned quite a bit about minimum curve radii and easements. It was fun, but I have moved on to a micro layout. It will receive its own thread.
