A whole buncha trucks coming from TrainWorx

Wow, $60 for a trailer tractor combo.  That is a bit expensive, but I would guess their market is the proto particular crowd, who have probably long bought their rolling stock fleet, and thus need just the last few details to make their layout worthy of next year's Great Model Railroads issue.  Even with these, getting that one coveted N scale slot is going to be a bit difficult, LOL>

Modeling 1974 Montana, I think I can use the CR England, Werner, and Schneider 40 ft trailers.  They at least look like something from the mid 70s.  I'm sure CR England would have made it to Montana, not so sure about the others, before deregulation.

I don't remember seeing JB Hunt until at least the 80s, and the tractor looks too modern, so I'll skip that one.  That could also be a strike against Schneider and Werner.

The Swift and Marten are definitely too modern for the 1970s.

I found a photo of an England Kenworth "needle nose" 900 series tractor pulling a 40-ft reefer that appears to be very similar to the Trainworx England trailer without the crest (part #60209-02).  The photo is in the book "Kenworth Trucks 1950 -1979" by Ron Adams, and the caption states the photo was taken in 1962.  A year later Ron saw the same truck in Philadelphia with a load of lettuce from California's Salinas Valley.  The trailer is a corrugated Utility, and the main difference between the one in the book and the Trainworx model is that the one in the book has a belly mount reefer instead of a nose mount unit.

Also, according to Pat, all of the 40-foot vans should be good from the 1960s into the 1980s with the exception of the England trailer with the crest (part #60209-01).  That one is good for the 1970s into the 1980s.

N scale JB Hunt day cabs
I was sure I had too many options for the latest announcement so I left out the JB Hunt day cabs.  I have had a request for these tractors since yesterday so I went ahead and added them to this run.

According to Pat, the Dick Simon reefer is good from the 1990s into the 2000s.  I cannot remember seeing any in Idaho before that time frame, but I really like them.   

The International tractors are as follows:  Four 9670 models for JB Hunt, Schneider, Swift and Walmart (good for 1981 into the 1990s).  One 9700 model (Schneider), and two 9800 models (JB Hunt and Schneider).  Both the 9700 and 9800 are good for 1988 into the early 2000s.

Mark5:  Yes, "Sweet Simon", and they even had the name on the logo.  I read that one of the company's first jobs was hauling perfume, and apparently it had a habit of leaking, because people would ask if they were hauling skunks.

On the overnight "truckers radio" programs Dick Simon's trucks were often referred to as "Skunk Trucks".  Schneider National drivers were "Punkin Drivers", for obvious reasons.  Another often heard on WWL from New Orleans was "Jelly Skidmore".  We had a customer service rep at work named Jerry Skidmore, but "Jelly"?  Turns out that the company was founded by G. L. "Jelly" Skidmore!

Then there was Dead Dog Trucking, whose truck I once saw on I-75.  Now out of business, it was a legitimate trucking company.
