Modeling 1974 Montana, I think I can use the CR England, Werner, and Schneider 40 ft trailers. They at least look like something from the mid 70s. I'm sure CR England would have made it to Montana, not so sure about the others, before deregulation.I don't remember seeing JB Hunt until at least the 80s, and the tractor looks too modern, so I'll skip that one. That could also be a strike against Schneider and Werner. The Swift and Marten are definitely too modern for the 1970s.
If I counted correctly, one of each will run you $3,047.55 MSRP!I really don't "need" any more trucks, but there are some very nice schemes here that I will be preordering.
Carter: Thank you. I assumed the England trailers were good, but had doubts about most of the tractors. Since the England tractors are Kenworths, they will probably work, as should the Werner. The oldest-looking Schneider is an International, which is too new. I'm not really too picky, and will allow a year or so variance, as long is it looks right. My sister was the truck fan! What I'd really like is a Dick Simon truck, with the skunk logo, but I don't know how far back that logo goes. It may not have been used on 40 ft trailers.
Hey Pat,Remember when you made freight cars? Some of the most beautiful on the market. Yeah, that was cool...
