There was a restaurant chain called "Victoria Station". It was made up from a caboose and several boxcars.  There was one in my neighborhood.  We used to have a group dinner (in one of the boxcar "rooms") after our annual RailRun model RR event.

The food was ok, and the ambiance was very "railroady".  :D

Ate in several Victoria Station's on both coasts.  Food quality and service varied significantly station to station. Might have something to do regarding why they are no more.

This is the Victoria Station that was located along the Embarcadero (at Broadway) in San Francisco, across the street from where I worked. It, and the freeway, were removed long ago.

Making slow progress with scenery detailing.  I planted more "wild daffodils" into this scene this week:

I hope to begin applying static grass and foliage on this side of the plate girder bridge this weekend.  Looks like I also need to get back to installing kudzu on the grassy knoll to the left of the trestle and building trees to hide the backdrop at the far right of the photo.

Added the last layer to a crib retaining wall. This is one of those projects where I do 10 minutes of work every time I'm in the layout room, one layer at a time. Also one of those projects where I find myself wondering if I'm a bit OCD ish. Still have to fill with rubble.

The walkways on the lift-over dumper are going from flat to grating. I'm using a sewing product called Dritz Seams Grate (s/b Seems Grate). Still have to trim the edges, try some weathering powder on it, and add grating to the kickback walkway. This would have been a lot easier for me if I had done it beforehand.

My wife told me to clear out the garage before it snows this weekend, so she can put her car inside.  I accidentally built four more modules instead! :scared:

Together, these modules make up the two terminals for my HOn3-mo adventure.  (That's the Plattsmouth bridge set on the right, still getting piecemeal work between breaks.  I need to finalize the measurements of the second bridge before I can shape the terrain on the Iowa side.  I also need to reshape the hillside on the Nebraska side a bit more. )

Ok, I better actually go clear out the garage now.  Forecast accumulation keeps increasing!   :scared:

Once I saw CN 8952 (GTW heritage unit) I had to build it. Thankfully I had a spare FVM SD70ACe on hand so I could quickly get to work on it. I used Train-worx's SD70M-2 conversion kit and while it was meant to be used on a Kato, it worked out well on the FVM.

Just weathered two covered hoppers and a boxcar (after removing the roof walk) with pan pastels, applied some graffiti and sealed with dull-coat.

This is one of the most realistic and satisfying n-scale cab rides I have seen to date. The track work is outstanding with smooth transitions from arrow-straight tangents to wide, sweeping curves, and wobble-free running. The scenery that has been completed is excellent and the structures are all appropriate and look good. Everything works well and the end result is worthy of a much larger scale. Very well done.

I finished up the Lark triple unit food service cars (Kitchen/Dormitory; Diner; Lounge).  I tried to add the silver/white decal stripes between the light grey and dark grey paint on the sides, but my decals were being difficult, so I left them off.  I may go back and add them at some point, but it's good for now.  It runs very well on the layout; no issues with the articulation assembly (video coming shortly).
