What sort of Frankenstein's Engine do you plan to make of this victim specimen?

It looks like one of the newer versions with the blackened wheels and smaller flanges.  They are really good runners.
I'm going to put one on my list here as soon as I have a few other projects put to bed.

Normally I would agree with you, however this one had issues - wobbled like a duck and couldn't pull itself along a straight piece of new kato unitrack. The motor spins freely on its own, I'm getting new drivers.

I have a Bachmann 4-8-4 that started out wobbling like a duck. It turned out that the drivers were not quartered properly. The axels are round, not D shaped, so it's easy for things to get messed up.  I got everything lined up properly, and it runs almost as well as my Kato steam.

That could be what's happened here. When you buy secondhand you never really know what you're getting. I'll quarter them properly when I re-arrange the drivers.
