I love the TTG scheme. So classy.
While I don’t need the whole train, some of its 10-6 sleepers were handed off to the Santa Fe in Chicago and went all the way to LA and back on the Chief. If any of you fine gentlemen buying the four sleeper add-on set want to sell one of the 10-6’s, please let me know.
Thanks, Otto K.

There were some cars offered by Kato as "kits" through their parts dept, but I think the pre-order window closed a while ago.  I have an order in for "Chicago River".  One of my first attempts at brass sides were sides for a 4-4-2 that were sized for a Con-Cor smoothside car.  It suffered paint damage and was set aside before the last move, but I may try to resurrect it.

I have a mind like a steel trap...a VERY rusty, old steel trap.

See if you can still order a 'XNYC20-106-CHICAGO' kit from the Kato USA parts dept. $40. Expected arrival is in 12/2020.

They are listed on the "Arriving Soon" page but the button to add to the cart is gone.  Hopefully some dealer somewhere ordered extra.

There is a guy on one of the Facebook groups that has been parting out alot of the kato passenger sets.

I think he is in the 'N scale 4 Sale' page.. his name is Juan Navarrete.

He had 6 or 7 of the CN Transcon sets where he was selling cars individually.

The wire board pressed down?  Was wondering how you were going to do this.

Right, however the rear of the factory light board is removed behind the little latch.

This works for the E5 and E8...been doing them like that since the V5 micros came out.

Enjoy!

I'm in.  Elegant/classic paint scheme.  I really like the looks of those E7s.  Long overdue from Kato.  Will we see B units to match?

I'm not holding my breath for the B-units.  I think if we were going to see them they would have been released with the train.  This was a surprise and a big disappointment for me, almost every picture and video (even the videos Kato shows us) show an E7 AB lashup.  I had hoped with an E7 A and B we would see SP and UP variants as well, but with NYC unique features I don't see it happening.  Actually, my biggest disappointment was not getting the 1938 (or 1940 or 1941) Century instead.  Their own poll had the steam beating out the diesel version (by nearly 2 to 1 as I recall).  I'm sure it all boiled down to money (right down to the lack of a B-unit).  If you watch Kato's Facebook video, at about 4:30, it appears the locos and cars don't match (locos lighter).  This also appears to be the case in a preview set at a Southern California dealer.

I know this sounds like complaining, but I do have the set, add-on set and locos on order along with 4 additional sleepers pre-ordered from Kato, and am anxious to get them all.
