First off a fairly ubiquitous car north of the border, slab side hoppers. @Angus Shops makes a really good looking kit for these cars in a couple of different hatch styles. A while back I completed one up in CPR block lettering, and it turned out great. That said, I always planned to have a few in CNR paint. To that end I have been lobbying Black Cat to produce appropriate decals for years (gently nudging him with reference photos and such).
I would be interested in doing some CN cars but need a decal set for the CN noodle scheme . . .

Haven't had much train time in the last few months, primarily because of the arrival of our first child. Sleep deprivation aside, everyone is doing well. (Attachment Link)
Finally got around to putting the Next18 adapter boards in my Kato F units, or two of them at least, as that is how many speakers I had on hand.

Angus Shops is currently celebrating a “last spike” event, having closed the last 5 foot gap in the mainline and running the first train from staging to staging. Although the track was thoroughly tested as it was planted and there was no surprise that the first run was almost flawless, it’s still a good feeling. As William Cornelius Van Horne said at Craigellachie in 1885 “All I can say is that the work has been done well in every way”.I’m a little tired of laying track; it’s quite likely that some model building is in the near future. BCR 570 and I have been discussing the welded hopper and the CP/PGE/BCR 8 hatch ice reefer. The welded version of the hopper is pretty straightforward. Geoff
