Finally! The BEAST is BACK!

After being out of commission for nearly three years, I've finally gotten my spray booth set up and operational again!  This time, it's got the upgraded/oversized blower installed, and I added automobile sound reduction mats on all the galvanized surfaces.  I had to hand-fabricate the adapter to connect the blower outlet to the flexible vent pipe.

Here's the manufacturer's label on the blower:

When running it can literally suck out a lit candle (in authentic :ashat: fashion, LOL).  I still have to install some lighting and filters, and get the compressor back onto its feet, but this is a big milestone for me :D

Curios as to what's on/in your walls?  Insulation (with built in vapor barrior)?  I've never seen insulation like that.  What part of the US are you in?

@MK these are poured concrete walls, covered in fiberglass batts with the white (polyethylene I think) plastic sheet over the top.  Pretty standard for foundations built over the last +20 years here in the Denver, Colorado Springs, and other areas of CO.  (Not sure what other areas of the country use them too.  I suspect in the climates that have cooler winters.)

Thanks.  I'm in the Northeast and I've never seen that before and I've seen a lot of basements!

I grew up in the Northeast and had never seen anything like it there, but otoh that was older construction.

Our house here is built on drilled concrete piers that go down 40' deep into the bedrock, and the whole foundation is supported on those.  The basement floor slab is structural and has a 6" void space between the grade and the underside of the slab.  They build 'em that way because otherwise the expansive soils in parts of CO can cause major shifting and damage over time.  Never saw anything like that back East (or in the PNW area, where most houses don't even have basements).

That's an Amazon seller gouging because it's a discontinued model and they're hoping to fool some purchasing department lackey ordering "an exact replacement" by the model number. The superseding model is: https://www.grainger.com/product/DAYTON-OEM-Blower-1TDU2 . It's also at zoro.com for $261.

Besides, for a project like Ed's you find one in an industrial surplus outlet and size your build to it.

I bought it around 5 (maybe more --  time flies!) years ago and it's basically been sitting around since then.  It was meant to replace the older/smaller one which had developed an unfortunate habit of overheating, but never got around to it until now.  Part of the hangup was having to fabricate an adapter to go from the odd-sized rectangular blower outlet to the 8" round duct.  (Don't mess with sheet metal without wearing a good pair of cut-resistant gloves!  :scared: )  I don't remember what I paid but it was nowhere near that Amazon price.

I just go my compressor and airbrush hooked up, and ordered some LED strip lighting which should be here in a few days  8)
