Not these Kandy Kakes . . .

The chocolate Kandy Kakes blow the peanut butter ones away.   ;)

Exactly what I thought!!! Yum.

I always have some when I return to visit PA.
Years ago, when visiting, I would go to the outlet (day old) store and stock up to take back west.
If you bought one item from this shelf, you could have two items from that shelf and if you got two items from that shelf
you could get one item from any of those shelves. For 10 bucks, I could fill a nice size duffle bag with enough Tastykakes to
supply the family for weeks. Butterscotch Krimpets make me ill, but I can eat Ed's weight in Chocolate Kandy Kakes!

OK .... so now the debates have started.  Let the games begin.

Hey Ed,

Are you old enough to remember Bookbinders or Shoyer's on Arch Street ?  Both were magical in my mind.

Pat's all day. Well really, all night. Because Pat's is best enjoyed at 2:30AM after you left the bar. Genos is best enjoyed never because they're xenophobic a-holes.

If it's daytime though, I'm going to John's Roast Pork. That's the home of the best game changer you'll ever have.

Remember, yes, but I was never there. I do remember the legend of Bookbinders soup though!

Neither. Both suck. They’re just tourist traps. Literally any other place in the city is a better choice.

Where does Tony Luke's rank on your list?

Never had the chocolate Kandy Kakes.  Are they new?  I used to eat butterscotch krimpets and peanut butter Kandy Kakes as a kid growing up in Jersey.

Pat vs. Geno.  I only had them each once back in the late 80's.  I don't remember which one I liked better.  My college roommate was from Philly, so he showed me around the city.  Fun times...

I respect Tony Luke's, and I know he's a real hustler, but it's actually pretty low on my list. I don't like his rolls.

I think for me it's JRP, then Dalessandro's, Di Costanza's, My Place (in Bath), Jim's, Magerks and Leo's depending on where I am in the world, then Pat's, then Geno's way down somewhere below Royal Farms.

BTW, I credit @GonzoCRFan for my real cheesesteak education, for which I am eternally grateful.

Not at all.  I remember chowing down on the chocolate Kandy Kakes in grade school in the 1970s and 1980s.

They aren't kandy kakes if they don't have peanut butter in them.  Not sure what Tastykake is angling towards.  Blasphemy !

Haha!  I’m not the brightest bulb in the box, but I did survive elementary school (when my mom packed my lunch with those Kandy Kakes) from 1975 when I started kindergarten until 1981 when I graduated from fifth grade.
