That was C39-8, not Dash 9s. Dash 9s weren't mentioned in that part.

I agree, they sold out on the Dash 9’s quickly. Not sure why they discounted them so much.

I will say that yes, I WILL buy a ScaleTrains River Counter ES44 with sound. The BLI version is awful, so it's not even an option, and shoehorning sound into a Fox Valley or Kato GEVO is intimidating for those of us who haven't milled frames before. I'm also glad it's coming out next year so I won't file for Chapter 11 just yet in 2020.

I'm totally in for an ST ES44  - but I actually like my BLI ES44's (both from the second run)...     Certainly closest to NS on the market....

Did anyone get the idea as to whether or not the pride in service units will eventually come to N?  If there is no realistic hope of that I might pre-order an HO version for display or something.

If they sell in HO it us a pretty good bet.   The ES44 in N was explicitly stated around the middle of the livestream...

That was C39-8, not Dash 9s. Dash 9s weren't mentioned in that part.

EDIT: Rewatched the video, N Scale D9s are due for a new run later this year, it's mentioned in a different part of the video.

Ah, I heard something, but was in the middle of doing something else, so I didn't go back 15 second and realize it was the C39-8s there were talking about. And with the fire sale on the Dash 9s, I assumed that was what it was about. I thought it would have been odd since they sold out of both runs that it would have been the D9s. I should have known better and skipped back and heard it better.

Man, I'm glad I didn't hear that about the next run of D9s, though I should have expected it. I only want a couple more, but knowing them, they will do some of the Frankenstein BNSF paint schemes and I'll be tempted.

Considering Kato and FVM make basically the same version of ES, a correct ST version is a welcome addition. I mean UP has at least three visually  different versions of ES44.

Dang, ES44, AC4400, Tier4 GEVO, hell, even EMDs now, are all toasters. Only way I can recognize an AC unit is if it's running with the inverter side towards me.

I jest somewhat, but as someone who used to be proud of his ability to recognize different engines, these days I have serious trouble finding the distinguishing differences in the modern diesels from GE. I struggle with SD70ACEs and SD80 MACs too.

Sure hope so. Those units are lovely.

I'm a sucker for heritage schemes on engines. But lately it seems I've been buying more heritage schemes than locomotives that actually fit into my layout. Oh well.

Tis a shame then - I was not able to get all of the Dash 9s (NS) that I wanted.

Mark, plenty still available...go all the way to the bottom of the page.   ;)
