I have a mind like a steel trap...a VERY rusty, old steel trap.

No, it was the BNSF anniversary units are coming to N. It was in the Q&A after the official announcement.

It was this, they said they were going to be announced on September 22nd as that's the official date of the BNSF merger. They have an exclusive agreement for 3 years with BNSF on these models, so its either ST versions or buying decals to do your own. It sounded like there were doing half (5 outta 10) of the units that are getting the 25th Anniversary garb.

I assume that's also when the HO versions will be announced as they are not currently listed either in today's announcement either.

Any who, lets just hope they continue to bring stuff to us in N scale, if I heard it correctly in the live stream in regards to the Dash 9s, Shane told James that they "lost their shirts" in terms of money on them.

So in essence that means the ES44 is coming to N scale. Sure I know Kato and FVM has done them, but with the ease of sound and details, you have to wonder how hot they will sell too.

Tis a shame then - I was not able to get all of the Dash 9s (NS) that I wanted.

That was C39-8, not Dash 9s. Dash 9s weren't mentioned in that part.

EDIT: Rewatched the video, N Scale D9s are due for a new run later this year, it's mentioned in a different part of the video.

I will say that yes, I WILL buy a ScaleTrains River Counter ES44 with sound. The BLI version is awful, so it's not even an option, and shoehorning sound into a Fox Valley or Kato GEVO is intimidating for those of us who haven't milled frames before. I'm also glad it's coming out next year so I won't file for Chapter 11 just yet in 2020.

Even better if their UP version has a road number that doesn't begin with "5" (Would love to see some road number variety in my fleet besides the 5xxx-numbered FVM and Kato GEVOs I own).

Considering Kato and FVM make basically the same version of ES, a correct ST version is a welcome addition. I mean UP has at least three visually  different versions of ES44.
