I got my brass Climax body in from Shapeways. They print these in wax and then a person adds runners to them by hand before they are cast in brass. After they cut away the runners and try to sand the area so you can't see where they were. I'm guessing the rear pilot footboard broke off during wax and was re-attached as it was hanging down low. I sliced the mounting post with a .010" saw blade, pinched it together and soldered it. The area along the roof "letter board" had bolt details that were gone and I could see sand marks there. Oh well.
The real problem was trying it drill a bunch of #80 holes through ~1/16" brass.
After breaking several Excel bits I found a pack from Precision Twist Drill Co. that bit right away and drilled great! One hole with a broken bit in it was deep enough to start the wire, so I soldered it.
The body still fits the chassis so that was good!
It comes all shiny like jewelry.
