sd45elect2000:  Thank you!

I thought it must be one of the "new" shortlines of the last 40 years, since I last lived near a railroad.  Not so!  It's been around for since the 1800s, but apparently hasn't had any interchange cars in the last 60 years.

The railroad has been reborn, they are doing a good interchange business now and are very busy. It was very close to abandonment.

Bad engine!  Down!  Stay!
Giggle giggle!
FYI, BLI was encouraged to include late F7 and F9 features (flush roof end, tall side window, 48” dynamic, vertical slit vents, etc.) in the F unit tooling program.
Have no idea if the factory did.

Looking at DKS' smoke generator....

There really is bacon-scented candle oil - WalMart has it - "Good Essential" and it's for candles, aromatherapy, etc.

There's something good to be said for this.   I've seriously thought about having a bucket full of damp Red Oak chips under the table when I exhibit the Hickory Valley logging railroad - because that aroma is so distinctive, not at all unpleasant, and memorable.  Right up there with soft coal smoke.

Yes, that's my Mac SE in the background!  Vintage Macs are one of my other hobbies and I don't really have a good workspace, so in front of the Mac is where I can work on my models.  And yes, it still works!  I've got several other machines but this is my only compact mac.

Yes, this is  going way back.  Long time ago.  The more I think about it, it was in the late '80s that I played on that Mac.  I remember colorless display - it could have easily been grayscale.  I was just so impressed with the overall look and feel of its GUI compared to the MS Windows.  And floppy drive had a power-eject feature. That was cool too.  I was also surprised with a single-button mouse, but that didn't hinder any functionality.

And made some progress on my tire dump.

More details in the engineering thread: https://www.therailwire.net/forum/index.php?topic=46861.msg677790#new
Wow, there are more N scale tires in that dump that there are in all the carpets of all our workrooms put together.  Was there a tire recall at CMW?
Tom D.

I have a mind like a steel trap...a VERY rusty, old steel trap.

Haven't had much time for MRR activity in the past few weeks, but here's a little something I managed to get done this evening:

Not a valid vimeo URL
Signal from https://www.atsfnscalemodels.com/3D.html with blade paint per LA&SL practice.

Crappy focus; maybe I can give it another shot tomorrow. Fixed.

A little late for the weekend, but I did 3 NKP coaches from the NKPT&HS kits - numbers 61, 90 and 93.  The trucks on number 61 need to have their pivot point moved:

Here's more of the train they are in:

and a better view of the rear of the train:

All Micro-trains heavyweights.  Decals are a mix - the NKPT&HS decals are the best (no surprise there).  The pullman is East Charleroi  - I had a grand time piecing togther the car name!

My 7 year old and I body mounted couplers and installed metal wheels into an Atlas boxcar of his tonight, didn't get any pics, but was a fun small project with him. Probably have him help me do some more tomorrow night
