Royale Models are worth a look!

I just received my package of trucks from Royale Models (www.royalemodels.com) and they are pretty great! I purchased the Mack and Freightliner suicide cabs for my LTL fleet and several of the Autocar models. Autocar is by far my favorite truck of the post 50's era and it's great to see it available.

The models appear to be made in a similar printer as a photon. they are stuck to their base by pins. I found out the hard way that these can be very fragile to remove and damaged a part off the bulk liquid commodities trailer. Detail is excellent and striations are minimal with one exception. That tank trailer had lots of striations and made it look almost fluted. I am guessing this is due to either a low poly count, an issue with the slicing process or the lack of using anti-aliasing. I have some ideas on how to fix this.

The trucks look like they may only need minimal sanding. One issue I did run into was that the trucks are all one part which can cause issues painting. I already contacted John and he stated he will start making the trucks modular with separate cabs, chassis and bodies.

With a price of $15-20, these are very reasonable and include very nice etched mirrors.

There's a shyness found in reason
Apprehensive influence swallow away
You seem to feel abysmal take it
Then you're careful grace for sure
Kinda like the way you're breathing
Kinda like the way you keep looking away

I got a couple last summer. Do they now include etched mirrors? I haven't started on mine yet because I thought the printed mirrors would break easily taking off the supports.

Whoa, those look really nice!
I also love that they include era info in the descriptions for those of us who are behind their Jack's Chrome Shop queue (https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCLnW1cjSHwvSUcAnrM3qRmw).

Here is one of John's kits that I just completed. I have done 3 of his and have had no problems with any of them. They are fragile, yes but very workable.......................

Why this COE version, because I drove one like this out of the Chevron terminal in Albuquerque back in the late '60's. Trying to re-live my youth, dontcha know.

Everything you see on this kit is what was printed such as the mirrors. I did add an air conditioner on cab and tool box and fire extinguisher on the bogey tongue, also windshield. I do not know if the etched mirrors are included in kits now but they are available on his web site.

Thanks for looking, stay well,

Carl

PS: Here is my current project, to be a Love's transport unit..........................

I saw these models on display at the Monroe Show and was impressed with them; neat to see the 3D printing technology making inroads into our hobby.  it allows for models not commercially viable via traditional methods to be printed and made available.

My freight car fleet now includes fifteen cars assembled from 3D kits with another six due to join soon.

Looks good.
One suggestion, put a little red paint on the oval logo on the hood.

Red oval decal for the logo would have probably been easier to apply.
