Is the D&RGW business car based on the shell that MTL originally produced for Lowell Smith's foobie Ferdinand Magellan?  I missed out on that car as I was in the midst of re-locating at the time.  Figures, it was the only Lowell Smith car I've ever been interested in, even if it wasn't accurate.  Handsome car - I am tempted to pick one up and see if I can change the name without mucking up the paint.

An internet search revealed that the only fleet of airliners that bore a paint scheme that was similar to the one depicted in the Micro-Trains Line preliminary artwork were Boeing 737-200 and 737 600 models operated by Janet.

With the absence of a large "W" that preceded the broad red window striping, the Janet livery is a variation of one that was formerly seen on Western Airlines aircraft.

Currently comprised of eleven aircraft that fly to fifteen (mostly military) destinations, the US Air Force fleet of highly classified shuttle planes is unofficially called Janet Airlines.

The car of that name isn't listed as a Business Car by the society:
OGDEN CANON    obs-lounge, 70ft    B&S    -10    ex-986, nee-WP 807, Rblt -28,
                         Rmod -34, -43, -45, Ret -52
Can't find a pic anywhere (yet).
Certainly, can say i do not recall anything on the D&RGW consists being that complicated in design,,,,
anyway cheers dave

Interesting tooling - I might pick one up to repaint. The steps on the one end are interesting.

I need to see the other side of the car.

Found a photo courtesy of the Passenger Car Photo Index- you are certainly correct that it isn't very much like the MTL car. (ps- while the url says "Ogden Canyon" the photo shows "Ogden Canon" on the car side.)

Shhhhhh.

Don't say anything.  If you speak too early before MT realizes the error, they they will only produce a few of these passenger cars with the mis-spelled name.... and then they will be worth a fortune and become highly collectible.

Forget what has been said about the airliner. It does not look line the 737 that has been previously made. It looks like engines on the rear of the fuselage. That might make is a DC 9.

Definitely not a DC-9; there’s not enough room between the rear door and the end of the APU. Also, check out the blanked out window at the leading edge of the wing root. That’s an AC duct typical of a 737, and not present on a DC-9. I think that’s a 737 classic body, and those ports in the back are the pivot point and jack screw slot for the horizontal stabilizer.
