30 days later and no responses ... It looks like I am going to have to buy more to replace my mainline switches. As for the #8’s it looks like the garbage can.

sorry to hear. i had hoped that replacements would have been offered
sad to think of replacing all the 8s and that they are not useable
dang.

sincerely

No still nothing!  I don’t even want to total up how much money I have spent on atlas track over the past year getting ready for this layout. The #8 switches were just a small % of my purchases.

Atlas Paul has not been around for some time: Last active August 26, 2020, 02:04:48 PM. Maybe he is busy being a CEO.

Maybe @EmdFan can help out with this?

We are looking into this further now. Most samples that I checked today seemed okay, there was one right hand turnout that didn't close all the way, it seemed as if the point movement was restricted. We need to look into this a bit further, it may just take a little more time with our limited access to the office. I brought a few home with me and will see what else I can find. Our repair/customer service department reported that they have had very few calls about these #8s. But regardless we will try to get it sorted out.

Hope for resolution on this.  Purchased a pair just on Saturday, and previously another half dozen, plus three used ones.

When I click on your website’s return policy page I get a 404 error page not found. It would be great to have some options that would solve the issues I have run into.

Brian,

Sorry about the delay, I haven't been getting on here lately and it slipped my mind.  Steve and I were both in the office yesterday and took a look at the turnouts.  There is some inconsistency and we are trying to figure out what it is - some are fine, some are showing the issues that you are mentioning - there was only one production run of these so it doesn't make a lot of sense.

As far as the return policy, I did not have trouble accessing it, try this link.  https://shop.atlasrr.com/t-returns.aspx

Thank you Paul.  That link does work for me.  Appears I need to call the office for instructions.  I am curious to see if they know what I mean when I reference our conversation on TZW!  😀 I will try to call in tomorrow.

I called in on Friday and talked to Don.  We talked for a bit and he advise I could ship them a couple that I am having issues with and Steve could take a look at them. I need to find a box and some time to run to the post office this week.

If you're shipping via USPS Priority Mail Flat Rate, then free boxes are available at the post office.

Brian,

If you can please send 3 or 4 of the most troublesome turnouts and we'll check them out. You can send them to my attention (Steve Woodward). I'm only on site once a week so it may take a little time after receiving them to evaluate, but we will do our best.

Thanks.

@EmdFan

Steve,

I finally got to the post office today and shipped back a bunch of switches today. If you want to PM me your email address I would be glad to email you pictures of my layout and how I have them incorporated into my layout.

I spent yesterday afternoon removing all but two of the #8’s from my layout and replacing them with #6’s. I ran trains yesterday for awhile and then again this afternoon while I was working on other parts of the layouts. No picking switches and no derailments!  It is a real shame because the #8’s look so sweet on the layout.

Steve @EmdFan

Just touching base to see how things are progressing?  The package of switches arrived to your facility on October 5th.

Thank you.
