SP-Wolf: Did you use a Concor shell for the starting point of your TR6b or something else? I still have a love/hate relationship with your work. I love what you do but hate that you do it better and faster than I do...

Hi Jeff,

Thank you, so very much!!

I used part on the CC "calf". I used the "cab" end from CC the rest of the body is Lifelike -- what a PITA. But worth it. The rough part was widening the CC part. The chassis is Kato NW2

Here are some in progress shots

Thanks,
Wolf

Started work on a very fun, small project:  a newsstand for my layout.  Inspiration for this came from Vic Roseman's 3 part series of articles on modeling newstands in Mainline Modeler from 2005.  Additional inspiration came from DKS who shows us that ANYTHING can be done in N scale.

The photos below show a crude mockup and computer graphic.  N scale magazines are VERY small, but I think doable.  The design has evolved a little from the mock up shown.

Two months ago I had zero ore cars. Now I have 133.
Am I the only one here who would love to see a video of a 133-car ore drag?

Yes, all Milwaukee.

I am thinking either a USRA mikado or a set of EMD FTs

Randy

Or you could do a lash-up of Milw and CNW Fs as both roads had once such an agreement to combine their motive power.

I wouldn’t mind seeing the cars run either. I might loan them to someone I know in an n trak club. I don’t have the space to run much more than a 30 car train.

I’d like too see how they perform with tru scale couplers, fox valley and ESM wheels etc.. they do look pretty nice although I did beat them up pretty bad.

I am bidding on another car, I have decals to use up after all!

SP-Wolf: Thanks...another project that I will start until you show something else and I get distracted (lol). Time to start digging into boxes looking for my old Concor B unit and LL SW-8s.

I really do love your work, really.

Lease power showed up on the sub today.  And checking rrpa, this unit roamed all over the CSX system before ending up in a deadline in Monroe GA.  Some orange peel in the paint, but I think I can cover that up

Try this:

https://www.google.com/search?q=nyc+express+reefer

Thanks David, that was meant in jest...
I did find the proper google reference, but all the color pics are *models*in differing paint schemes; not much prototype info. So I’m still looking for the correct paint scheme for late forties NYC Express Reefers...NYC guys, anyone?

I don't remember my resources but when I painted mine a few years ago I found that the entire car was pullman green at least for the late 40s early 50s. I remember some web page about those reefers and the nyc milk cars of similar design.
