Selling my first N Scale loco: MRC Alco RSD-15

Thinning the herd and I believe this is my very first N scale locomotive - purchased at Trainland in Lynbrook, NY around 1969 or 70.  If you are into vintage N scale, this one may be of interest.  It is also still the only non-brass Alco RSD-15 in N scale.  Runs well for its age (a bit noisy) and directional lighting, all parts, and traction tires are intact.  Includes original display box.

What was it like to be in Yugoslavia during the late 1960s?

It certainly has my attention.
Can't make the buy it now price just now, but I can see the value with the original box, original owner, owner I know who it is, etc.
I have it on the watch list.  At some point I'll put a bid in that suits, and we'll see if it flies.  Best of luck selling what is obviously a meaningful piece in your collection.

Plus, it was purchased from the train store in which Bobby Baccalieri got whacked.

I got whacked at that store when I brought in my Lionel to trade for HO, and when I brought in my HO to trade for N scale.

Is that a  factory paint job?  Spookshow's quote of the MR review does not mention B&O as one of the available road names.

I still have my first N scale loco.  Model power 0-4-0.
Rebuilt it recently.
Has sentimental value to me.

I did the exact same thing O to HO to N, only back then it was House of Mulraney's Trainland, before Train world bought it. Probably 68 or 69.

I have 2 of them packed away, still with the original packaging including the inserts. My traction tires are gone though.

I have the MRC 2-8-8-2 still in the original packaging with inserts also. All the side rods are still on it too. It probably doesn't have an hours running time on it.

Heres a radical idea. Find a willing and worthy young person at a train show. I think you'll know the type when you meet them. For me, its usually a mom going around the show shadowing their well behaved and interested young son. Tell them your story and how much it would mean if you can use it to help them get started in the hobby. Offer it to this person for free. I have done similar things and always received great satisfaction. You won't be out a lot in terms of money. I think you'll find you will receive more in terms of senimental rewards and the satisfaction that it went to a good home. Just food for thought.
