It dawns on me that not many model this era like what is depicted in the photo.  Instead, this era is usually modeled run down, with faded signs and broken concrete.

Well not many model 1905 specifically or do traction.  By the 1930’s a lot of that was less pristine.

It definitely lost some character over time.  Some details in the historic photo of interest - the curbs are granite, the sidewalk and street appear to be concrete.  The street car tracks go from two tracks on the cross street to one track on 28th St.

This is what the colorizer did to it:

That blue on the Coke sign is highly doubtful. Blue pigments of the era were notoriously unstable. Probably a red, especially considering red being their signature color since like... forever.

Here’s another DPM add... downtown Cuero, TX. I’ve always thought that tiny building wedged between the two larger buildings was particularly interesting.
