I have two Athearn 2-8-0s now that are lettered for the D&RGW (on a layout set 16 years before the D&RG was reorganized into the D&RGW).  The yellow scheme, well...that's anachronistic on a million different levels (introduced in 1948 for a single narrow gauge class C-16, #268), but everyone associates that scheme with Colorado, so I couldn't help myself!  It really is quite pretty even if it's even brighter than the aspen trees.

It’s funny, though, because I’ve often heard or read the statement that HOn3 and N scale standard gauge are about the same size.  Um…no?

I get the visual joke, but the track would be HOn2 1/2, which you know.  For those of us who wear the anal cap a little too tight.  Dave great modeling both HO & N.

True enough!  This is primarily for shows.  Most of the time at home I’ll be running CMRy-lettered stuff.

Depends on the equipment.  An HOn3 30 ft boxcar would be about the length and height of an N 60 ft auto parts car, but half again as wide.
