Oh man I really love that shot looking down the street.  BZ.

I finally got around to building the tailings dump trestle for the Rattlesnake Mine.  Some additional debris and junk rounds out the scene.  The yellowish material is real Western mine/mill tailings.   You still to this day see the yellow piles scattered about on the mountainsides in the mining districts of Colorado.

Getting ready to write-up the Midland for N Scale Magazine.  These shots were just test shots with an iPhone and will not be sent in for publication.

May I recommend doing something to kill the shocking whiteness of those caboose end rails? They stick out like sore thumbs.

AND they're anachronistic.  I've already done two of my Midland cabooses in black...just need to do that third one.

The N scale Colorado Midland was featured in last week's New Tracks Model Railroading - Scratchbuilding Workshop:

I haven't done any real work on the Midland but after many months of neglect, I decided to power it up and see if it still worked. A little track and wheel cleaning was all that was needed. So yes, the Midland lives!

A little JFRTM in N scale FTW.

Here's another one for Schnitzengiggles. This ten-wheeler was a @Chris333 project...I just added a few extra details and painted her for the Midland. Chris lowered it, modified the tender, and changed the pilot among other mods.

Very nicely done, Dave! Glad the 2.0 got resurrected! Just imagine what you could do in N scale of that era in a spare bedroom (or basement!) :o
Just saying' :D
