So will a 3d printed body be an option to make the streamlined version on the Bachmann chassis or are there mechanical differences?
A replacement streamlined shell should be possible to fit on there, since that's what the real ones were (standard J3 Hudsons with streamlined sheeting on the boiler).   When I kitbashed one of these years ago, that's what I did... make my own shell and put it on the Kato Hudson.

One online dealer is taking pre-orders at a price of $250.
What price is the NYC historical society charging?

The NYCSHS site is worth a visit to read through their NY Central Modeler magazine which they publish as a pdf and have available free on the site.  I am not a NYC modeler, but this month there is an article with a review of just about every N scale model NYC passenger car.

The NYCSHS has a price of $329, for Society members.  But the Society member price is almost always the same price that you'd find at N Scale Supply, so I would guess this will be the going street price for these models.  At least until someone starts offering them for a big discount, as what typically seems to happen with Bachmann engines.

Regarding the NYCSHS website, not only is the NYCentral Modeler worth checking out, they also have a lot of good articles (most of them old articles from the quarterly magazine The Headlight) under the "About NYC" and "Modeling Resources" drop down menus along the top of the page.  Topics range from paint chip analysis (to get the correct shade of gray) to histories about cabooses, certain locomotives, and, one of Railwire's most favorite topics, single window coaches.

I remember everyone who was complaining that we would never see a TCL due to the lack of Broadway Limited sales.  Well now we had a second release of the BL shortly to be followed By the TCL.  I am glad too see Kato broadening their offerings.

Listening to the Trainworld FB video with Bachmann, the Bachmann Rep says..
"people asked if......We did Boxpok drivers first, and we'll do Scullin drivers in... mumbles..."

Hudson talk starts about 42 minutes....

Perhaps they should have posted a poll on their website to assess the preferred style of drivers.

Anyone take notice Bachmann shows a J3 hudson for the fall with soundtraxx eco. I seen it two min ago. from Tophobby. Was wondering who'd be the first to step up and make that in todays standards.

I keep looking for BLI to do the PRR Q2 or J1

Just drive a stake through ConCor's heart, why don't you!
The good news for me is that a bunch of older ones are about to flood the market!

Perhaps they should have posted a poll on their website to assess the preferred style of drivers.

The way he said it.. it sounds like there are plans for more runs that he couldn't talk about it yet.
If they had to choose 1 or the other.. they made the right choice..

Scullin drivers don't become an obvious stand out feature.. until you do an ESE or 20 Century..

Hopefully they sell well and show demand for more...

I'll pic one up and sell my two Concor. Already have the Concor Dreyfus with a Tsunami 2 in it.
