When you get the "Cincinnatian" done, how about the "Columbian" cars, at least the baggage/dormitory/lounge and diner, and maybe the observation?  And a 10-6 smooth sided sleeper of the B&O type would be helpful for the "Capitol Limited".

I'm right on your tail!     I've been working on a caboose, and am finally able to print the body with roof as one piece.   I messed around with all kinds of angles and supports before I found one that really works.

I had to replace the LCD on my photon last night.  That was a real treat

Tinkercad?

Yes. Tinkercad.

I found a site that allows me to convert Corel CDR vectors into a .SVG file which tinkercad can import. I am much more comfortable working in Corel and already have a few projects drawn up that I was considering etching or laser cutting that can be converted to a print now.

That seems a good way to do it .. Tinkercad is a little clunky ... I'm trying to learn fusion360 right now .. its not going as smooth as I would like   those renderings look great .. please post a picture of your print ..

The 2d drawing of the cars was done in Corel almost 10 years ago. The hardest part is picking out each face and creating a registration mark of some sort so I can line up all the different parts. Adding vent and seam and rivet detail in the right place is going to be the tough one.

Skip, have you tried working in sketchup? its fairly simple to get used to and may be a bit easier in adding the additional details.

I played with both and Tinkercad works more like the way I used with Corel. I like the additive/subtractive design methods.

Once I get the ends finished on the car I am going to try a test print before I add all the details. Should be soon. Been crazy busy at the hobby shop this week and all I want to do when I come home is relax.

Updated drawing...fine tuned the window placement, separated the floor, added band detail. still lots more to do.

I've been working on something similar.  I screwed around for quite a while before getting the optimal angle and supports set up.   Looking forward to seeing how yours works out.

Ready for a test. Probably went overboard on the supports but here goes....11 hours to print, 25ml of resin. Won't be doing too many "test" prints I hope.
