For the most part I just leave it without fixative. Sometimes, depending on what it's being applied to, it can stain the surface.
I tend to avoid stuff that's not fixed in place. Me being me, it's eventually going to move around and go places where I don't want it to go. YMMV.
Trust me, powdered chalk is unlikely to move once it's been applied to a rough, porous surface.
Took advantage of the good weather yesterday to shoot a couple of photos of my modular layout. More photos can be found on the layout thread.
The very last short section of track is gluing down. Now to connect the last three feeder drop set to the bus, and track and wire for segment 1 will be complete.
I'm guessing that the track is quite happy that you chose glue, after it saw the track nail you would otherwise be using.
Depends on if you're the kind of person who sees a bit of stray shmootz on the layout and blows on it to get rid of it
