Today all four cars received a clear coat and were reassembled.

I really admire all that you’ve done here.  Big applause!

Funny thing … since I started following this topic, I found myself getting increasingly interested in Ontario Northland.   The logo and livery started to grow on me.  Last week at the Barrie train show, I picked up a nicely detailed little N scale ON gondola made by Trainworx (a new-to-me manufacturer).  The very next day I did a pre-order for a six-pack of Rapido’s barrel ore cars in the ON blue & yellow livery.

And so the bug has bit … the hunt is on for ON equipment!

It’s a sharp looking scheme for sure and a very interesting railway. If I weren’t a BC Rail fan at heart I’d consider fully committing.

Friday was a very exciting mail day! Custom decals arrived courtesy of @philippe.whyte , which will allow me to finish the train finally!

These ones are for the 5 flat cars and the single door box car.

Nice!   And the “For Craig” label is a special touch.   Looking forward to seeing the result.

Here’s a few terrible photos of the flat cars and box car. Side one is done.

Very admirable results.  I especially like that really thin flat car (the one sitting on the coffee mug).
Great looking decals.   Such a nice job all around on this entire train.

Thanks everyone.

One of the cars will get reworked a little (the one on the plastic coffee cup lid) as I must have got the measurements wrong. A couple of the graphics are too large. I’m also using a “close enough” flat car model and so things need to be massaged into place.

The decals are the brilliant work of @philippe.whyte so in can’t take any credit there. And the paint has improved a lot ever since I found a substitute for the Rapido paints. I wish I’d fond them before I did the FP7.

Oh and there’s still one more flat car. These are just the blue ones. I have another that’s a yellow exTTX car which needs TTX graphics, a crap load of weathering and then ONR re stencilling and the like. It’s a whole other project.

I’m planning to run this train at a show this weekend. I hadn’t counted until today but as it sits now the consist is 19 pieces!

So in preparation the blue flat cars got trucks and couplers.

And the canoe car got canoes. I love this car. If ever there were a car that were Canadian…. It’s this one.

Tomorrow I need to put couplers on the canoe car and some vehicles on the flats. Then it will be ready to roll.

Once again a HUGE shout out to @philippe.whyte without whom this would not have been possible. He did the art for the box car, flat cars, and even the little decals for the outfit companies on the canoes. Thanks again Philippe!

You’ve pulled off one of my most favourite builds ever.  And not just the canoe car, I mean the entire project.  Awesome job!
