Lots of good info -- and yep, will need to come up the learning curve once everything is set up.

I prefer supporting everything in PrusaSlicer first, and then exporting the model with supports+raft over to chitubox just for the slicing and printer exposure settings

The PrusaSlicer interface just has many more features and the supports are also different in that they easily break off the edge of the model without leaving craters. The automatic support is also much much better and you can adjust the head and base size of supports as well as manual placement.

I just got a Photon and downloaded Chitubox.  I did not see an option in Chitubox for *.pws.  I really like the way the software works but it appears my new Photon will only accept *.pws files.  The Photon User guide says a that it should take either *.photon or *.pws.  I'm thinking that Photon may have changed the firmware on Photon to be the same as then Photon S.  I've only had the software for a couple of days so it could an operator problem.

Old is .photon and new is .photons, both are options in ChiTuBox.

I just found out about "Photon File Validator" . Looks promising for easier support editing. I tried it on a couple of sliced files I had saved and it identified a bunch of islands. Makes adding supports much easier.

Have never used auto supports. I've clicked on it a few times and laughed out loud at the result, then deleted them. I add every single support one at a time. I do run the validator to look for errors, but I edit the pixels right in the validator and save. Not like how he did it. But yea any loose pixels are just gonna stick to the screen and wear out the FEP.

Looks like I should be giving Chitubox and that "Validator" a look next time I'm printing.  I've done pretty well so far and haven't even looked much beyond what came with the original Photon once I figured out how the silly thing worked. :D  Most of my parts are pretty straightforward and easy to identify the low hanging fruit but I have been bitten on a few when I missed an island.  It's easy to do when the biggest concerns are elsewhere and then you miss a dumb one. ;)

Thanks all for this thread. 8)
