It took a pair of Optivisors and some better light to really see how coarse the rendering really is.
For a number of reasons,
@CRL is right that they don't work well as foreground structures.
Well, I love a good challenge anyway. So I grafted a porch and some after-market shingles on one and some trim with a sign to the other.
Yeah, they don't stand up under close-up photography at all.
At a distance they're OK mainly because the surrounding structures are much more detailed. We'll see how they "perform" under show conditions and show lightning.
Overall I could have obtained much better results with marginally more effort through scratchbuilding so this experiment was not a particular success.
However, in a background/forced perspective situation, these guys might fit the bill quite well. It's just at 2.5' x 5' I really don't have a background at all, LOL.
