Looking for new roto-tool

My old 2nd hand 40+ year old Dremel roto-tool has bit the dust and I need to replace it. I’m not enthralled with the current crop of Dremel roto-tools, so I’m looking at the Proxxon tools. Here’s the model I’m considering, which is a 110v AC model, but they also have 12v DC version. https://www.proxxon.com/us/micromot/38481.php

Do any of you have experience with these? How about the 12v DC vs 110v AC versions?

Thanks.

Did you check the brushes in your old Dremel?  They could be worn down and they sell new ones at most places that sell Dremel bits.

The bearings have cratered where it’s starting to wobble, plus the ergonomics suck, so it’s time.

I really like the cordless Dremel I bought a few years ago.

Which model did you get?

I'll be damned if I can find a model # on it but it's a 10.2V Lithium Ion.  The charger says 856-02.

I have various Proxxon tools and they are generally well built.  I have the 110v IBS/E Plug in model.  I'm sure their 12V would be fine too.

And when you have that, get their drill press frame and X/Y table and you can actually do some milling with it.  The Z axis isn't so easy to control to the thousandths but the tables are quite accurate, the same ones that are on their MD-70 mill.  This would be similar by style to Dremel's tool and drill press rig but the main difference is, this one actually works, and works quite well. ;)  The drill stand is the MB-200 and the tables are the KT-70.  Look over their site for other ideas of ways to spend your money.

If you would get the stand and table at some point contact me for more detailed suggestions and guidance. :)
