Did some plumbing this week, with .030 styrene rod for the fill pipes (4" scale) and .040 for the headers (6" scale).  I just about went blind adding tiny valve actuators on the vertical pipes (painted blue):

I'm kind of on hold now, waiting for my Micro-Mark punch set, so that I can make some flanges and access hatches for the big vertical tanks.

How'd you do the bends?

The folks at Rohm and Haas are patiently waiting to do their own plumbing... lol.

@Ed Kapuscinski, the .030 rod bent nicely straight out of the pack, but I dipped the .040 in hot water prior to bending.  YouTube has some videos of car guys using a lighter to preheat bends, but use that method at your own risk!

I took a scenery break and worked on the transition that borders my two-track staging area; crossing signals, trees, and road weathering are on the to-do list:

Appreciate it @Ed Kapuscinski and @Vince P !  An NZT ground throw is coming in hot, but too bad I don't have enough to go around.

Spent a little more time on the tank farm last night - this is taking way longer than I had planned  :scared:

Anyway, the back row of tanks are detailed, painted, and glued in.  I also whipped up a pipe bridge from Evergreen H channel and strip:

Here's a closeup of the isolation valves where the tank car unloading headers will connect; the MT brakewheels are a bit too fancy, but I had them on hand  :-X

My construction crews were busy this weekend!  Ballast crews completed both sidings for the CRC plant, and pipe fitters finished out the tanks and started installing the tank car unloading headers:

Here's a closeup of the pump that is needed to get product up and over the pipe bridge:

And finally, big thanks to @Ed Kapuscinski for a "home road" boxcar from his personal stash; it will look great once I lower and weather it:

It was my pleasure, and that looks fantastic.

I REALLY need to get to work laying some pipe myself...

I am bookmarking all of your chemical plant posts for when I do the piping etc for my polyolefins plant. They are off the hizook!

I know you said your pumps and valves were shapeways, but did you post links to the actual products?  I need to get some . . .

@Philip H here is the direct link to the @Ngineer pumps I am using: http://shpws.me/Hn51.  He has a ton of other chemical plant stuff if you browse his store.

I scrounged those blue valves together from some larger rod and brake wheels that I had on hand, nothing fancy for sure!

And I think some of you guys are off your game today, letting Ed's "laying some pipe" comment fly LOL!

Over the weekend, I installed the remaining unloading headers, and connected them to the tank farm; need a few hoses next:

I also finished off the grade crossing on the interchange/staging end of the layout, but the colored pencil cracks in the road don't really stand out  :|
