FYI, here's what I'm working on.

I still need to:
1. Finalize the design
2. Fix the print styles so it prints right
3. Add the form to make it easy to update.

But I wanted to let you all know it's a real thing.

Ok, I think I have it mostly working.

Although for some reason it's not printing in Chrome. Safari seems to work for me though.

Can a few of you give it a shot?

Ed, what size are these supposed to be?  It worked fine for me entering the data and printing, but the result was substantially smaller than a business card.  I thought we were aiming for 3" x 4".  I am printing to a Brother laser printer from Chrome on a Windows 10 machine.  The printer properties were all nominal except that "Scale" showed up as "Custom" with a value of 130.  I tried changing "Scale" to "default", but that had insignificant effect on the resulting size.

Also, I wanted to enter my club affiliation instead of my home address on the last line.  But, the last line automatically generates a "from" in front of the data the user enters.  Not too bad, but I think it would be preferable to just let the user decide what to put the last line without any automatic addition.

Thanks for the effort.

Interesting.

I had initially thought 3x4 but the more I read the more I found that there's actually a smaller size that's far more common. That's what I went for here.

Interesting thing about the "from" thing. If you're familiar with Chrome's dev tools you can easily mess with it. It's all just HTML being manipulated with JavaScript.

I guess I'm keeping my own 3 x 4 badge, since that is what I use at Springfield.

Prints for me in Chrome though a bit small as Maletrain said.  I'll print it out and then blow try to blow it up on a copier.

Maletrain, to enter your club affiliation, just put your full name in First Name and then your club name in Last Name.  Then where you're from in the From.  All works out that way.

Because of that issue I was thinking of having it create two different badge outputs. I'll work on that when I get a chance.

Since you're going to mod it, can you make it bigger?  :D

Worked for me, didn't even print upside down.

Can't you just tell the browser to print it at custom scale percentage setting, and type in a number which will print it large enough?

No, I tried that and it doesn't work.  The scaling seems to be ineffective.  First time I've seen that in a print operation.

Yep.

Can everyone who generated one that's too small send me a PDF of what they got?

Ok, I got two and so far the sizing has been in line with what I'm expecting.

I had sized that version for these:
https://www.avery.com/products/namebadges/74549

Since that's what every train show I've been to gives out.

However, it sounds like the demand is REALLY for a 4x3 version, so I'll definitely work that up.
