Rod,

The one you have posted would do well for one of the smaller versions of the separator, from what I can tell from photos.  What are the scale dimensions of it?

Here is a better shot of the one I posted previously.  This one is fairly large and would work for the ones seen on the roofs of the planer mills.  Try and ignore all of the external piping.  I think that would be site-specific.  The curved inlet would be required, of course.

If you could print one of these, I would definitely be interested in picking up a few of each type.  What do you think?

 Doug,

I'll draw one up like in the last photo you posted. I can add the stand if you need it also.
I can scale to what dimension you want.  Those last two I printed scale out about 18' tall and a little over 8' in diameter

Well, I don't know what the dimensions of that big one are so any good guess would be fine:).  It looks to be at least 20-30 feet tall and 10-12 feet in diameter.  I don't think I'd want one that big.    And yes, the stand would be a great addition, particularly for the big one.  I suppose the stand for the smaller ones could be the same design, just smaller :).  I've seen some of the smaller ones attached to the side wall of a building but I'd rather go with a stand-alone stand, if that makes sense.

Over to you.......

 Doug,

I'll start working on getting it drawn up tomorrow.

Yeah, I think the distinction for me in this case is where the taper meets the sides at the lower end, liking to see it even with the width of the sides.

I appreciate your willingness to help @rodsup9000
Are you anticipating on your WP layout the need for any silos with a tapered bottom, like those found at Cement Redi-Mix plants?   ;)

Not at the this time, but who know as I get closer to adding structures.

This is what I have so far and need some input. Does the "elbow" need to be a tad smaller??

Rod,

I'm not trying to pick nits here but I do have a couple of suggestions.  Yes, a "tad" smaller for the upper elbow would be good.  Also, the opening at the bottom could be slightly, a "tad" if you will, larger in diameter.  Look closely at the last photo I sent to see what I mean.  This is looking promising so far.

Rod-
Is it hard to replicate the joints in the elbow?
Also, I think the elbow should continue until it's reached 90* or where the opening is vertical.

Good eye, Bryan.  I missed that one.  What he said, Rod.

Probably something like this.

Bryan,

Did you make the one shown here or is it someone else's?

It's a resin casting I've had for years and years and I've got no idea where I came up with it.

Doug and Bryan, It takes a different way to draw it up and I'll see if I can do it and make it look like the photo.
In CAD, the elbow is a complete 90 deg, so I think it is the angle that were are looking at it.
