Wow Russ that is just downright fantastic!
You have something extremely special there. Superb work!
I’m digging the cool lighting as well.

Yes, superb, +1 here,
Otto

Thanks, Guys! :D

Yeah, the lighting was a lot of work. Especially after the gyralight LED stopped working and I had to tear open the back of the sandwich board to replace it, but it was all worth it in the end. I have the numberboards set up to come on with startup (F8).

With the new motor, this is my smoothest running loco in my fleet. Almost completely silent with the sound off.

Thanks again, Jim, for blazing this trail! ;)

I’m making progress on the Relco MOW train. 6 cars and an engine painted yellow so far. I still have the control car from the other end to paint. Once this dries to satisfaction, the gray starts.

I’m pleased that you got some inspiration from my project but man...you REALLY stepped it up!

This sweet running narrow motor has been a real game changer for small engine builds.

Been working on a Ore Tipple that I want to print.   Footprint is 2 1/4" X 4 1/4"
I added a couple of bolt and nut detail and if they come out on the 1st trail, I'll add them. Have a trial on the printer now.  Still need to do the chutes and doors.

Some progress on the rotary plow:

This started out with a Tichy rotary plow. The original wood grain plastic superstructure was covered by sheet styrene. The rear was extended to cover the fire man's porch. Rivets are from archer and access hatches are .005" brass. Decals are custom made on a laser printer. I still have another set of decals to make for the chevron pattern on the blade guards and some of the data.

The busy Christmas concert season is now behind me and I have two weeks of holidays in which to get back into the hobby and move forward on some projects.

Another pair of cars decaled and ready for weathering:

The layout has been silent for two months as I traded in my existing Lenz DCC equipment for the new Lenz system.  It arrived a few weeks ago and is ready for installation:

I am looking forward to getting it installed and getting the layout operational again after the long break.

Hey Darryl = thanks for the video update; great as usual!  I hear you about the dangers of using the black powder for weathering - I completely over-did my roads with it.  Like you, this is my first crack at making and weathering roads.  I'll have to wipe down the roads with a wet rag and try again.  What paint are you using for the roads and the sidewalks?  Also, for all those little bushes along the right of way - what are you using for those?  I'm using super trees and am pretty happy with them, but I need a bunch of undergrowth and want to try some different materials.  Thanks as always!
I am using woodland scenics concrete paint designed for their smooth it system.  Yjr trees are from JTT.  I don't think they are available anymore.  I've had them for quite some time waiting for a chance to use them.  They are perfect for this location.

Sometimes the small projects are the funnest (and easiest). Blue flags to protect carmen doing repairs.

Getting the layout into a magazine was never a goal...

That may well be but congrats anyway.  Unfortunately I don't have a copy.  Did you supply all the material or did the magazine send someone?

N scale searchlight signal action:

Not a valid vimeo URL
This is the signal from several weeks ago, here: https://www.therailwire.net/forum/index.php?topic=48289.msg639722#msg639722. It took a lot of messing around with endless Photon print runs to make an acceptable base that would solve this "worst case" (12 tiny wires) mount. There were multiple objectives here, foremost being easy installation and easy maintenance. Those goals were met, but getting there... wowee.

The bits that made it work:
