I agree that a baggage car would be more "interchange-able" (I have several NYC, PRR and others for just this purpose).  By all means, bring on more baggage cars.

The NKP cars, as well as some ATSF, PRR and no doubt many others had baggage and horse cars with end doors on one end of the car to allow loading of automobiles, theatrical scenery, and various products and machinery that were too long to be conveniently loaded through the side doors.

You have to realize "autos" built during the heyday of heavyweights weren't monstrous brutes like they were in the '50s. Model T's quite easily fit into baggage cars -- especially since many new cars were shipped as sub-assemblies to be put together once they were unloaded. Frames, seats, motor,  etc were small enough to go through even normal boxcar doors.

Oops. I thought I posted something when mine arrived, but must have been distracted.  Anyway, they ship really quick.  Ordered on Friday and it was in the mailbox the following Tuesday (I think, or Wednesday).

I hope that sometime in the next year we can develop custom decal sets in multiple scales for all the NKP headend cars.  But right now, we just have enough for the cars.  We hope to get 10 more of the cars in the next few weeks.  If you missed out on the first round, you might get a second chance.  But after that, we're out of cars and out of decals.  For now.

Well, the MS set is not very useful.  Wrong sizes of lettering for nearly everything.

Hang on for a few months.  I've also got two kitbashed baggage cars, so I have a personal interest in getting an accurate head-end car decal set in all scales available.  And now that I'm head of the NKPHTS's modeling group, I might be able to influence that

good to see a society paying attention to member/ modellers needs and moderate cost. I've done a heap of non-profit work over my lifetime and tho not a NKP fanboy, I can use such a vehicle on my extended 'what if' (and when it happens layout) D&RGW fantasy amusements passenger or special loads from Mid-West/ Eastern roads. My roster of NKP cars is only about 1% but Im sure it should be more.
I think I can squeeze a new car like this in so Ive bookmarked the site,

Had fun putting the kit together, decals are great. It caused me to pull out a long dormant project, NKP Train 7&8, to see what was left to do.

Speaking of NKP decal needs, the project stalled because I couldn’t find the right decals for the blue and silver scheme. I had kitbashed Diner Lounge 127...  fast forward 10 years and $25 worth of decals later...

REALLY nice work.   I'd like to do car 127 myself some day. Did you start from Rivarossi coaches?  Also, what color did you use for the gray (not white) sides - it's a great choice?

Yes, those DeRAILcals were great.  I have a couple carefully preserved sets left.    Yes, the Microscale set is all but useless - profoundly disappointing, especially since it was a recent product.  It's almost as if it were designed for tinplate trains or something.
