Hey Peteski, that's the Brooklyn accent.  You-know-what-I'm-talking-about?  :)

Of course!  I did mean New York City (and to make it even more accurate, Brooklyn). Sorry for generalizing.  :D

Similar, but different. Both are almost impossible to understand for someone from other parts of the country.

This Ohioan can(or at least used to) understand the NYC accent. Having worked for a trucking company that hauled office furniture that was produced in the SW part of Indiana(Jasper and the surrouding area) into the east coast, I became good at understanding the accents. Mainly by being yelled at by those who couldn't seem to figure out why if it shipped on Monday it wasn't at their door Tuesday morning waiting to be installed. Of which we did neither. Ahhh glory days.....

I lived nearby as a kid, also rode my bike there, about 4 miles. I've ordered 2 HO-scale Bachmann F7s from them via mail-order. No issues.  DDC & sound for about $90 each, including tax & shipping. IMHO you can't beat these for the cost. They run very well at low speeds. Only the basic sounds: prime mover, bell & horn, but only $90. Not the detail the higher priced locos have. But I can (and have) added that. This is a Bachmann unit:

Nice. I find that as I get more interested in actually operating on my layout, the detail gets to be less important and overall impression and running qualities become more so.
Nice to have fun with good looking, nice sounding trains...

Free shipping over $100, Jan 19-20.  Considering shipping starts at $10, that's a pretty good discount.

I couldn't bring myself to spend $100, but I did scoop up a replacement for my S4, as well as a new Plymouth switcher.

It turns out the motor went bad, not the decoder, so the cost differential for the decoder became a moot point.

Those cheap coreless motors . . .  :D
 Isn't a replacement motor just $15?

Trainworld is actually (or was, 15 years ago) a lot of fun to visit. They had a huge inventory and staff was pretty well informed. They were located in Brooklyn under i278 elevated, right next to a few liquor stores and some porn shops. So pretty much everything in one place.

I have ordered from them plenty in the past with no problems. They are a great place to bottom feed for discounts.

I278??  No, No.  They are next to the Ditmas Ave station of the elevated subway, the F line to Coney Island.
