If you had to pick who will do this locomotive, who would it be?  KATO, Athearn, FVM?  There are currently at least 8+ paint schemes right now?  Maybe more?  The military units have got me pretty excited!   Thanks to all!

N - Kato
HO - A race between Athearn, MTH, BLI, and Walthers

That's my guess anyway.  More than likely Athearn will get there first on the HO side.

Cheers,
Brian

Id love to see Scaletrains take on the CP Heritage and Military schemes in N.

Whoever gets there first will have a winner!

Being based on the SD90, Kato would be the best bet

Would be nice if Kato would do it, but that would require new tooling for the deck mounted ditch lights alone. But you could use their NS SD70ACe cab and SD90/43MAC rest to achieve it if you didn't want correct ditch lights.

Heck I keep hoping Kato will announced KCS 4006 and CSX 911, 1776, & 3194. I wonder if UP 1111 got enough preorders to go to production?

Id love to see Scaletrains take on the CP Heritage and Military schemes in N.

Unfortunately with Athearn doing the SD90MAC-H in HO, which opens them up to the SD90MACs (4300 HP variants), SD80MACs, and SD70ACu's I would think that it wouldn't be high on @scaletrains list, but anything could happen.

I could see FVM doing the KCS 4006 and CSX 911, 1776, & 3194.  I'm more interested in the NS 1111 than the UP 1111.  Just my opinion.

Well, I don't want to be that guy in regards to FVM production, but Kato has ran two runs of 1943 since both announced them. I would love to get the FVM/NSE version for the better details, but right now there hasn't been an update if it will ever ship. Same for the UP Heritage motors, I think Matt could make a killing on his versions of them. Same for the EMDX demo units in both blue and the CAT demo unit.

Well Kato is running the NS 1111 unit in the same run as UP 1111 as well as NS 1030, which I wish FVM would have modeled both versions so people could run it as a leader and not have 1982/2012 as numberboards.

To each their own on the drama of UP 1111, if it wasn't for the timing of the release in the middle of PSR, furloughs, and pink slips, then I don't think it would have the bad stigma tied to it. As a railfan, I have no ties to it other than a neat looking paint scheme which honors their employees. Something quite a few companies both small and large tend to forget.

Sorry for starting thread drift which it seems I turn threads when I post into something else. Back to the SD70ACu's, I'd get a couple undec units if someone ever produced them in N scale. As cool as the CP units are, I'm not quite sure I would go for them.

If someone ever did a H-Mac in N scale I would have to get a couple in red... Without a doubt my favorite "modern" locomotive!

Agreed that the 70acu is right in Kato's wheelhouse, but still think that a Scaletrains Rivit Counter version would be obscene!  :D

I would like to see KATO do it also but it seems like they take their time in what they want to do.  I would have expected more roadnames in SD40-2 and more in the SD70M non-flared radiator!  I did pick up a few 90's just in case no manufacturer announces it in the next year!!
