And here I thought I would no longer have to hunt for the crappy Bachmann set on eBay.  Well, the Bachmann set looks good, but its mechanicals leave a lot to be desired.

Anything that gets kids into the hobby is a good idea and that what this trainset is.
Which ever side of the track I am on is the right side.

You do have a point. It's just that the thread's title raise my hopes for an N scale version, and I'm just a big kid myself.  :)

I like the “dead rail” feature. I’ll probably never convert to DCC, but Im all for battery powered, remote control with sound locos.

This might be my new around the miniature tree Xmas train.

An N scale version would be cool...

I'm curious if this is an Atlas created product or if it's a Atlas brand import thing?

Nice close coupling, which is more than I can say about most of our scale models... :|
I can see this could be something young kids would relate to and frankly, the HO-like size is more appropriate for little hands.  (They can always graduate to N as they get older and smarter) :D

Thinking along the lines of what Bandai does with their "Shorty" line of Japanese style trains?
