Finally! We have needed a high quality version of this model for a long time. I'll take Chessie, CR, B&O, and CSX please.

I think it's later than that.  The demo car was built 6-53.

When I went to look up the car in my Kalmbach book on 40s and 50s freight cars, there is a photo of B&O car circa 1957.  Given that shadows are in exactly the same place on the MT artwork, I am tempted to suggest that same photo was photoshopped to remove the reporting marks and produce the artwork. 

It is of some relevance to me whether this will be produced in the original 1952 version, or the (slightly) modified 1957 version (planned layout being 1956).  Although I might just buy it anyway as long as the paint schemes are correct for early 50s- those who might want to check the shape of the end posts will be required to bring beer or pizza. 

Anyway- good to see an updated version of a major freight car of the 50s and 60s.

Why? Not a dang thing wrong with the Atlas PS-2, or the Athearn version. Why?
