Fall Plano TX Train Show October 12, 2019

This year the Fall show is Saturday only.  The "normal" Plano show in January will still be two days.  (18th and 19th)   I'll post that one as the date gets closer.   It will be interesting to see what this show looks like with only 1 day....I think a lot of vendors and layouts won't want to bother but maybe I'll be wrong.   I will likely skip it, but if someone is planning on going let me know...might sway me.

We are happy to announce the fifth annual Fall Plano Train Show is being held at the Plano Event Center Saturday October 12th, 2019. Hours 9am-5pm Saturday. 2000 East Spring Creek Parkway. Go East from Central Expressway (Exit 31).

Admission $10.00 per person Children 12 and under are FREE. Sorry, we can only accept cash at the door.  If you would like your layout added to the fall tour contact Chris Atkins at chris@railroadmodelers.com.  There will be a full schedule of clinics.  Many home layouts will be on tour.

For those like me that like to have a link-able address from your phone:

I didn't realize it was Saturday only.  I usually only go on Saturdays anyway.  Hmmm.

@Rivet Miscounter do you know if Jeff @Rossford Yard is going?

Any other North Texas folks going?

Sorry, didn't see this until now.   I'm not sure if Jeff went or not.   I didn't end up going.

It was Saturday-only this time due to a conflict with another event.  It normally is both days.

Jeff did not.  I went to his house to look over his layout - first time I had seen it.  I brought an Atlas C630 w/sound and ran a switch job to the ethanol plant and back.  Much better than going to Plano.  :D

Didn't happen if there aren't pics.

Was glad to host another operator, and John is a good one.  He chose the NW Industrial District, which switches Boyle-Dunn Oil, Loar Lumber, Givens Sugar, and Hills Propane, plus the Wynning Team Track.  Gave me a few ideas for tweaking the track plan slightly.

Even casual N scalers will notice the influence of Tom Mann's Bill Denton's Kingsbury Branch on this half of the track plan!  Barely seen on the other side is my 7 track yard, Judge Soybean elevator, Ma Panzer's Soy Oil, and directly behind John, Manos Steel (with one building having been recently dropped during cleaning)/

Tom Mann's Kingsbury Branch

Has @tom mann been keeping something from us or did he just break into Bill Denton's @skytop35 house and claim ownership?  :D :D

LOL, you'll note I posted near midnight, and after a night on the town (or actually, at the ice rink watching the home team lose.....).

My apologies to Mr. Denton.  Before embarking on this a few years ago, I emailed him and he responded that it was still a satisfactory switching experience decades later. N scalers are almost inevitably nice! Will amend post!
