What about this RS3M? http://www.rrpicturearchives.net/showPicture.aspx?id=4301954

She's my favorite!! I'd LOVE to figure out how to do that. She used to hang around the Baltimore/DC area too.
They only did one like that because it was so slippery. These things were already known to be light but with the nose removed like that it made it even worse, especially because it would then differentially slip.

All this RS3m talk reminds me: I have a box of RS3 parts to frankenstein together at some point, but AFTER I get the layout running.

Those are RS3m's, smart guy :)
An earlier post questioned whether or not "a handful of PC RSes made it into blue. After browsing around, apparently not."
Is an RS3m not counted among "RSes"?

That is a philosophical question for the ages, my friend.

This is a great video as it shows those branch lines with the MP15s before their lease expired and the GP8s holding down the fort until the lines were sold.  Reading in the Conrail Era Book 1 is a great reference tool with a short section on the former Reading Coal Region.

Oh hell yeah. I'm adding the video to the post and the book to my cart.

Thanks!

More big progress last night.
@CodyO @DeltaBravo and Steve K came over last night for a foam party.
I ran out of soap and the girls in gold bikinis never showed up, so we just put styrofoam down on the doors.

Step 1: Apply glue.

Step 2: Apply weight.

Step 3: Demonstrate my scenery techniques on Cody's super portable high quality layout.

Well...  He does need to accommodate his "minimalist" benchwork, so the static loads have to be below a certain threshold exceeded by most a$$hats...

Oh my god! What a monster!!!!!!!

I can't believe my layout will forever be sullied with such offensive gluing!

(And I can't believe I asked him to do it.)

Ed,

Since you glued the full sheets on, are there no areas where the scenery will be below the tracks, e.g., fills or creeks, and you should have avoided gluing foam there?
