"gdm" isn't Jenna. I think Jenna just copies and paste reviews and post off trovestar on the forums

I assumed it was her Trovestar Blog that she is cross posting to Trainboard.

So it's a cross post from the Atlas Archive photo database 'Trovestar'

Apparently the 403 error I was having was Trovestar between "( )"s

She is involved with Trovestar, but I believe the gdm is George, not sure the relationship between the two.

Here is one of her articles, https://trovestar.com/generic/blog.php?Article=427

Jenna is George's wife, and I believe both are involved in Trovestar.  Next time I see George (should be at the Greenberg show next month), I ask him why they use Jenna's name as a Trainboard member.

"The reviewer of the ESM car probably can't properly seat a dislodged wheel.  It seems easy enough to figure out what is causing drag on a model and to mention that in her so called review."

I had a "dragging" ESM car that wasn't that easy to find.  Easy to fix, once found, but not easy to find.  One axle was rubbing on the coupler cover screw - but only when it was on the track.  Pick it up, turn it over, and the wheels spun fine.  Finally I held it just right, the truck settled just right, and it scraped.  A little filing on the screw solved the problem.

I didn't think of the screw first because my X58s didn't have any problems.  But the new X65s apparently have the axle in just a little different position, relative to the screw.

The specs kept changing on the Affa-supplied trucks and wheels (and screws) from run to run, which is why we decided to tool our own.  Axle diameter, truck bolster, and even the crown on the screws would change.  In hindsight, we should have designed the coupler pocket with the screw hole further inset.

I've seen this happen (this problem is not specific to ESM).  Another trick to locate the problem is to look closely at the axle, and you'll see the polished area where it was rubbing the head of the screw.

While there might be haters out there (disliking anything company X produces), there is also such a thing as constructive criticism, or design change recommendation (with logical reasons provided).  Since many companies out there participate in all sorts of social media, it makes sense to offer such criticism. They might actually take it into consideration.

To be honest, I don't think there are many true haters out there. But constructive criticism, if not quite phrased properly, sometimes can appear as being hateful or negative.

Well true.. But there is a difference between constructive criticism, and petty complaints about things that have nothing to do with the model, or nit picky details on minor issues.

And that review got petty and nick picky (imo)...

Ohh well...

DFF:  True, but I hadn't run the car long enough for it to show.  The first thing I did, out of the box, was check that it rolled, and it didn't want to.

I've had the problem on cars where I've body-mounted couplers, so it certainly isn't unique to ESM.  I prefer 1025s, and have started using a drill bit to hand-rout a hole for a flathead screw on them.  Usually not needed, but it also eliminates the big screw head hanging below the box.
