Well, a lot of the guys whom I run trains with look kind of "weathered", but I think it's natural, not modeled.  :P

Those prices were for a charity auction. Go to Iowa Scaled Engineering website for real pricing, but still a chunk of change.

It is a big chunk of change, so I've been on the fence about it.

Looking forward to operating on a layout tomorrow that has gone 100% Proto-throttle.

The throttles themselves are about half that.

I saw a thing on ISE's site about spare faces.

But I've got to say: I really love this. One of these things will be top of my list when I get a layout up again.

Yes, but I love my ProtoThrottle.  The only way I could make the experience better would be to add a second ProtoThrottle, so I could run two locomotives or consists without having to switch back and forth on one throttle.  But, because they are pricey, that will have to wait.

Now if they would just come up with one for steam locos.  But, with an automatic stoker, please - I don't want any coal shoveling in the train room.  :trollface:

Yeah, but I could dig the brass levers and a steam pressure gauge. Pulling a string for the whistle too.
